The cold and bad weather also came from me, probably this will be the last butterfly of the season, waiting to find it again in the spring after hibernation.

Class: Insecta

Order: Lepidoptera

Superfamily: Papilionoidea

Family: Nymphalidae

Subfamily: Nymphalinae

Tribe: Nymphalini

Genus: Vanessa

Species: V. atalanta

The Red Admiral or Vanessa atalanta (previously also known as Pyrameis atalanta) is a well-known colourful butterfly, found in temperate Europe, Asia and North America. The species is resident only in warmer areas, but migrates north in spring, and sometimes again in autumn.
This large butterfly is identified by its striking dark brown, red and black wing pattern. The caterpillar feeds on nettles, and the adult drinks from flowering plants like the Buddleia and overripe fruit.
In northern Europe, it is one of the last butterflies to be seen before winter sets in, often feeding on the pale fire of ivy flowers on sunny days. The Red Admiral is also known to hibernate, re-emerging individuals showing prominently darker colourings than first brood subjects. The butterfly also flies on sunny winter days, especially in southern Europe.

Hi Luciano, Thank for continuous supporting my work. Of course I learnt from TN members to get better on photography. Thank very much.
I see this image of you, you have captured this butterfly with a wonderful angle which is from up above gives the butterfly more dramatic to look at. Fabulous colours mixture with nice composition.

The view of the horizon from your angle of exposure gives life to your caption of this picture, Luciano. The new horizons will once again open up with the spring next year. Life cycle will once again resume.
Lovely picture of the Venessa atlanta with precise focus and attractive colours and patterns on the open wings.
Thanks.

Bonjour Luciano,
Merci!
Anne

Hi Luciano,
You seem to bid farewell to the Red Admiral, which I like most, but we still have lots of butterflies here in Guangzhou. Very nice POV, excellent clarity, great fine details, marvellous composition, and splendid natural colors. I like the blurry BG of a row of trees, too. Very well done, my friend. Thanks and have a nice day!
John

Now this is a composition that can send your imagination from here (the Red Admiral) to the distant BG. The Admiral was captured in perfect sharp detail and color enhanced by the F5 setting to give that perfect DOF. nice low POV my friend and thanks for sharing.
