Hi Friends,
When I posted this shot,I realized it was my first sunset on TN. Actually the shot was taken just past sundown hence the title.
The day had been overcast and in the late afternoon I saw that the cloud cover was breaking up. Out comes the gear bag and the tripod and after a mad rush to one of my pre planned spots, I found that I had 'missed the light' I took a couple of shots anway and began heading back disconsolately to the car, up a trail that passes by a popular beach. This was completely deserted and something made me stop for another look. Strange how you find alternative POV'S! I frantically set up again because the play of light on the incoming waves was changing quickly.
In this composition, I placed the rock mass a tad higher than I would normally do but my intention was to catch the light on the receding swirl of water. I had an ND grad up front, camera colour setting placed on 'warm' and in my rush, forgot to change WB setting to 'cloudy'. A 20 sec exposure gave the result herein, I hope you like it
Thanks for watching
Mark

timed water always gives a surprise when we see the result..and always different and interesting adding a dimension we cannot 'see'
soft and muted tones throughout are pleasant
cheers

Hello Mark,
Beautiful landscape picture. The last ray of light and clouds formation are great. So peaceful and serene. Excellent result from slow shutter speed. TFS,
JC

Hi Mark,

The effort was worth it! The colors are well capture and your 20sec exposure gives a nice effect to the ocean. Good entrance to the picture with part of the beach. Like the dark profile of the cliffs in the BG left. Good work.

PC :)

The dark outline of cliffs in relation to the delicate colours of the dusk on the horizon is the best part of this capture IMHO, Mark.
The composition as a whole evokes the sense of serenity positively.

Hello Mark,
I like the late afternoon or early morning sea photos with long exposure a lot, the long exposure with a good soft light always have a misty effect on the sea.Good composition and beautiful colors. TFS

Hi Mark

Surreal colours in this shot. Love the effect from the slow shutter speed. Nice to view. Thank you!

Hi Mark,

Great sunset colours and nice water texture (the result of those 20 sec exposure). I like the good weight ballance between the seashore, water and athmosphere.

Cheers, Petru

Salut Mark
Elle est très belle cette prise avec ce beau paysage avec de belles couleurs ,
Merci et au revoir....JP

Hello Mark,
Nice shot! Picture is nicely simple and colours look natural. The water "ironed" by long shutter speed gives interesting effect. I also like the fg with a bit of beach.
