[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Small heath butterfly (Coenonympha pamphilus)

The small heath is amongst the smallest of the butterflies. It has pale orange upperwings bordered with brown and with brown veins radiating out from the point where the wing is joined to the thorax. There is also a small brown ‘eye’ on the top of the forewing. The underside of the wings differ in that the hindwing is largely grey with a prominent white flash across the middle. The underside of the forewing is similar to the upperside, complete with the ‘eye’ spot, the main difference being that the spot is fringed with yellow.

Beautiful presentation with bright and warm colours and details. Clarity of the eye is real striking. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.
Anna

Nice soothing colors and composition, the photo could have used a bit more DOF imho.

cheers
Jeroen

Hello,
Good close-up. If front wing was sharp photo would be excellent. I like composition, butterfly on the violet flower and clear BG.
Regards, Pawel

Hi Dan,maybe the right side of the wing it's out of focus, but from this point of view was impossible to make better. The sharpness on the eyes is fantastic, perfect light and colors too!My best compliments, have a nice day,LUCIANO.
