[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A Large Bentwing Bat - Miniopterus scheibersii (Vespertilionidae) is the only one European species of this genus. In Europe it is distributed mainly in S pat of continent, but it is also known from Orient, North Africa, and Afro-tropical region.

The specimen shown on this picture was photographed in the Obodska Pecina cave, Skadar Lake National Park.

It is funny because the reason why we (cedryk
also was there :>) have decided to explore this cave was to find some freshwater amphipod crustaceans for Cedryk's studies.
Untortunately no specimen of these invertebrates was found, but meeting with this bat was a great recompense.
Moreover, a few other interesting creatures were obeserved in this place - one of them was a cave cricket of the genus Dolichopoda presented in cedryk's gallery.

PS.I think that a short explanation to this "typical hunting pose" of the bat presented on the photo is necessary. This is only a simple "photo-trick", this bat really is not flying at this moment - it is in Cedryk's hands - please note that not whole wings are seen! The specimen was photographed just for documentation (Montenegrian fauna of Chiroptera is still poorly studied). Such kind of documentation is very popular among chiropterologists all over the world. Of course nothing bad was happened with this bat and it was released right after!! :)

Hi Radomir,
A lovely incomming flight shot. Great on detail & a nice POV.The DOF seems just right as the hind of the bat softens into the darkness.

I wszystko jasne! Michal trzymal biedaka za konce skrzydel, a ty zrobiles mu to fantastyczne zdjecie :-) Dlatego kompozycja jest taka ciasna. Sprytna sztuczka :-) Rewelacyjne. Zrobic w locie nietoperza i to w dodatku po ciemku - nie mam slow.

Hehehe, dobrze wyczul Cie Grzesiek :-)
Serdecznosci i usmiechu
zyczy Michal

Good Shot did you use a infra red sensor to photograph this bat?...
Good POV DOF on the face and it is very sharp.. thanks for sharing

Hi Radomir,
fantastic shot! But, tell me the truth: the wings are held by your collaborating friend....? :-)))
I am joking!
Congratulations.
Carlo

Hi Radomir,

Wow what a fabulous shot, how did you do it.
I love it.

Hello raomi !
Wow, this is fantastic ! You managed to capture a flying bat ! At least this is what I thought before reading your note ! :-) But even if your friend was holding it, it is a great picture. Sharpness details, colors, exposure and use of flash are excellent. The pose of the bat is nice too, even if it is not natural. Very well done !
Valerie.

Impresionante toma con buena luz y velocidad adecuada. Supongo que de gran dificultad.

Saludos Radomir.

Nice shot. Sharply focussed and good pov.
