I shoot this foto on the Vlietlanden, nearby Vlaardingen in the SW part of the Netherlands. This is one of the layer peat areas which have not settled. There is never drainage works have taken place. In wintertime in the late afternoon you get a perfect light to shoot this kind of pictures. There was no wind. The seagull had no hurry. (-: Handheld

mooie warme kleuren met een mooie lucht en nog wel in de winter genomen.
Alleen jammer dat je onderwerp zo in het midden staat.
Mooi die reflecties op het water.

A seagull has found her favourite position!
The top of masts and poles etc seem to have a special attraction for these birds, hehehe...

Hi Bob,
nice compo, although the focus over the bird is not the best. colours and light are great, very warm, i can almost feel last sun of the day.
I donīt know if it was posible or not, but maybe you should have tryied to pic the reflection of the bird on water or more sky.. because the stick image over the water seems lonely and with no sense. But this is just my opinion.
Above all... itīs a great picture.

An interesting capture of this gull as it pole sits on one leg.
The warm lighting is lovely,and creates some beautiful reflections.
