First of all, lotts of thanks go to everyone who did take a view and the ones who also wrote a comment/critique on my previous uploads.
Much appreciated.

Shot taken early moring, around 7 o'clock, from a shelter on at a lake in the north part of Netherlands called Lauwersmeer.
Did use a beanbag to support the lens
I know it's pity there is some out of focus reet in the foreground, but I was'nt able to remove it before I took this shot and I also think the bird would'nt have liked it very much to get a look of my ugly face that early in the morning...........LOL.
Best wishes, Harry

From Wipkedia

The Sedge Warbler (Acrocephalus schoenobaenus) is an Old World warbler in the genus Acrocephalus. It breeds across Europe and western and central Asia. It is migratory, wintering in sub-Saharan Africa.

This small passerine bird is a species found in reed beds with bushes. 3-5 eggs are laid in a nest in reeds or a bush. Pairs are usually monogamous, but not strictly so (Leisler & Wink 2000).

This is a medium-sized warbler, 11.5-13cm long. The adult has a heavily streaked brown back and pale underparts. The forehead is flattened, there is a prominent whitish supercilium, and the bill is strong and pointed. The sexes are identical, as with most warblers, but young birds are streaked on the breast below. Like most warblers, it is insectivorous, but will take other small food items including berries.

The song is a fast, chattering jirra-jirra-jirra punctuated with typically acrocephaline whistles and mimicry.

Thanks for viewing and/or comments/critiques.

Dag Harry,

Firstly, yes it rains alot!!. Thanks I've downloaded Neat Image.

This is a super shot. Lots of deatail, not just with the Warbler, but with the web too. As for the reed, .....Does it matter. It doesn't detract and if it bothers you that much you could easily clone it out.
This is great.

Gary

very nice detail and Composition..
congratulation...

Hi Harry.
Wonderful image, pin sharp on the Warbler and he just pings out against the lovely DOF and colour of the background, so here the out of focus grass does not grab at my attention first.
Composition slightly left with grass flowing into the top right is perfect, lighting, detail, all just great.

Beautiful detail down to the droplets on the spider web under the warbler. The composition is gentle and flowing - lovely.

Hallo Harry,
Inderdaad, jammer van de focus. Verder fantastische opname. Prachtige compositie. De kleuren van het riet in combinatie met de dauw en het web zijn schitterend.
Groeten,
Peter

Hi Harry,
Excellent photo! The colours are superb as well as the composition. I really like how you have positioned the bird to the left of the frame looking towards the right, as well as the reed to the right. The clarity and details are wonderful, especially of the bird and the lovely dewdrops on the spiderweb. Well captured!
Claudia

very good photo.

Hi
The BG is outstanding beautifull, the reed in the foreground is not that disturbing.
Looks as if this Warbler is drinking?!
Tom

Lovely shot!! Like the composition of the dewy branch, pose of the bird with beak slightly open and the dewy cobweb adds the extra little bit that makes this pic just lovely!!

Agree with your assessment of the OOF branches in the foreground, maybe they could be photoshopped away?

TFS!!
Liezel

Hallo Harry,

groetjes
Paul

Hello Harry,
This is a superb capture of the Sedge Warbler, a species that I cannot get close to take a shot as good as this. Were you in a hide?
The composition on a sedge is excellent, together with the pleasing bokeh BG.
Well done and TFS!
Best wishes, Ivan

Hello Harry,
Beautiful composition showing the Sedge warbler in sharp focus. Excellent sharpness and lovely colours. I don't suppose there was any wind this early in the morning? I like the dew drops on the rush. Very beautiful!
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Dear Harry;

I started to write critiques :) Composition is good, but sharpness is too bad. you could do better with such a geninue lens.

Regards, Have a nice day.

Hi Harry,
I really like the simplicity of this picture. A very nice composition and claer details. The dark green background is also nice, which make the bord come out better.
Regards, jacob

Hi Harry,

I think this is a super picture. I love the composition. Really arty. Well done.

Jan-Hendrik

Harry hi,
Well composed...
Very sharp especially towards the edges....
I wonder if the former is a Nikon trademark; maybe it is my imagination and I has to be said I have little advanced knowledge in comparing Nikon to Canon. What was your priority criteria for choosing Nikon instead of Canon? If I may ask?
Thanks for sharing

Bonjour Harry
Quelle belle galerie ! Beaucoup de finesse dans les détails de cette image et dans sa composition. J'aime beaucoup l'attitude de l'oiseau, avec les pattes en mouvement, et les couleurs de l'herbe, avec un bg idéalement flou.
Merci du partage.
Antoine.

Nice shot. Good DOF to blur out the bg. Good composition too.
