Recently there was a bit of a discussion whether this is a steppe eagle or a golden eagle.
I still think this is a steppe eagle. At least this is the information I got from the 'trainers'..
It is taken during a bird of prey show in 'Safaripark Beekse bergen'

Hola Annick. Gran claridad y nitidez en esta foto. Exelente. Luis52.

Hi Annick,
A nicely captured portrait of this eagle. Not sure what type it is. Excellent composition and POV. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hi Annick,
This is a Steppe Eagle for sure!!!!
Beautiful portrait with wonderful feather details, and soft green color tones in the BG.
Lovely pose of the bird.
A little harsh lighted on the beak and top of the head, but that's just a minor flaw.
Thanks for sharing.
Have a nice Sunday,
Harry

Hello Annick

I have some experience with golden eagles, I saved one once that had a broken wing. This looks very similar to a golden eagle, but the beak colour in this photo appears a brighter yellow much more like a Steppe eagle.I do not have any experience with Steppe eagles but they seem not to be as dark as the golden eagle either.Very good detail with sharp focus. The colours are very good.I have a golden eagle shot very similar(pose) to this shot(though not as good),I should post it for you.TFS

Beautiful portrait. You have a real knack for getting "that look" in the creatures you photograph. The look that says it all. Lovely POV, beautiful colors, wonderful detail and that eye is simply stunning. DOF works so well to accentuate the subject with that great BG. Well done !

TFS, Mish

Hello Annick,
Couldn't resist this superb close portrait of a Steppe Eagle with fine detail against a great neutral BG. Possibly a little OE around the base of the beak, but its a fine shot.
TFS and best wishes, Ivan

This is no Golden Eagle.
The feathers on the neck are too large to be a Golden Eagle.
The Golden Eagle as smaller feathers.
Sharp with great detail.
Well done,
Joe

Hi Annick, splendid portrait with great sharpness and wonderful detaild, beautiful blurry BG, very well done, have a great sunday, ciao Silvio
