I say this mother and here baby`s near my house. I did not think it was a special kind of duck, but when I looked it up on the Internet ( looked on Wikipedia ) I really could not find the specie.. so I am not sure it is an domestic specie.. Maybe anyone here knows.. I still think I have seen this kind of Bird a lot..
The Muscovy Duck, Cairina moschata, is a large duck which is native to Mexico, Central and South America. A small wild population reaches into the US in the lower Rio Grande River basin in Texas. There also is a significant feral population in southern Florida and southern Texas. The Muscovy Duck has also occurred as far north as Virginia.
Proframe helped me..
The wild Muscovy Duck is all-dark apart from the white in the wings, with long talons on its feet and a wide flat tail. The male is 86 cm long and weighs from 2.1 to 3.2 kg, much larger than the 64 cm long, 970 g to 1.3 kg female. His most distinctive features are a bare red face with a pronounced caruncle at the base of the bill and a low erectile crest of feathers. The drake has a dry hissing call, and the hen a quiet trilling coo.

Hello Kristy,
This looks like a Muscovy Duck of wich you will find some information HERE
Wonderful family shot.
Lovely colors and gorgeous couple of chicks this duck has.
Lighting is spot on and the ducks do stand out wonderfully against the greens of the grassess.
Pity the chicks are a little out of focus and therefore a bit soft.
Would have been better to use an aperture of F8.0 to get more depth of field.
Very nice image anyway.
Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards,
Harry
