[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi all,

I would like to start this note by apologising for not being active in TN for a some time. Things have been busy here for me :-( . But I would also like to conclude my current stay in Netherlands with a series of dedication to TN friends from Netherlands ( Thijs (Pentaxfriend), Paula and Rene ( PVB)) without whom I would not had wonderful opportunity to shoot some of my pictures in Netherlands. The first in the series , that is today's Post goes to Thijs, He is a wonderful human being , very dedicated Pentax user, excellent photographer and a wonderful friend to have.

This picture is of Postman Butterfly (Heliconius melpomene), which is a butterfly that is from a genus ‘Heliconius” of butterflies that have very similar markings and looks and are hard to distinguish between. The Postman butterfly has large long wings with an orange stripe down each forewing. They tend sometime to look similar to the species Heliconius erato. There are many forms of this butterfly. It is poisous and has red patterns on its wings. The distribution of this butterfly is from Central America to Southern Brazil

Thanks for visiting,
And once again thanks a lot for Thijs

Hello Goutham,

Being a lot less active than in the past in TN I can understand you very well!

But I hope you have time to shoot at least :-)

Your butterfly is gorgeous and you got a great POV and mastered excellently the exposition in order to let us see all those tones of dark colors on it...

Great composition and graphically very interesting by having the buttefly within the same angle than the leaf he stays on...
