I took these bee previous year in Aardenburg Netherlands along an flower field.

I used a monopod.

I found this note by Wekipidea.
Honey bees are a subset of bees which represent a far smaller fraction of bee diversity than most people suspect; of the approximately 20,000 known species of bees, there are only seven presently-recognized species with a total of 44 subspecies (Engel, 1999; historically, anywhere from six to eleven species have been recognized). These bees are the only living members of the tribe Apini, all in the genus Apis, and all of which produce and store liquefied sugar ("honey") to some degree, and construct colonial nests out of wax secreted by the workers in the colony. Other types of related bees produce and store honey, but only members of the genus Apis are considered true honey bees.

Thanks for comment.

A small correction Ivan think that this is probably the Drone-fly Eristalis tenax and no bee

Hi John, Good to see another fine macro in your gallery. The bee is in perfect focu with the background not a distraction at all. Bees have a lot of details we miss with our eyes but visible in a close up such as this. Good bold colours. TFS. Murray.

Hello John,
Nice capture of a species of HOVERFLY, not a bee!
This is probably the Drone-fly Eristalis tenax.
Fine frontal POV showing the head and the proboscis and good details of the yellow flowers against a contrasting OOF natural BG.
Thanks for sharing this one,
Regards, Ivan

Hi John,
Netherlands has beautiful parks and butterfliy houses around Amsterdam and Liedschendam. This is a good picture of a drone fly / somekind of hower fly. Good sharpness and colors, but there is bit of noise in the image.

Hi John,
Bee or not bee, a wonderful macro shot with gorgeous sunny colors. Perfect focus and sharpness. I can overlook the little noisy background, but I find the white canvas way too thick, it distracts the visual impact a bit. But the photo itself is pleasing. Tfs.
Have a happy Valentine's day, László

Hello John,

This is a very nicely composed image of this fly (not a bee) and flower. Nice, warm color and good sharpness and detail also help to make the photo a very fine one.

Hi John,
An excellent macro of this bee face to face with great datails and colour.
