Hello Harry,

Snipe is a bird I almost capture a great picture often but still not, will keep on trying. Very good pose, very sharp details and excellent composition. Very natural colours and I can feel it staring. Great work.

Harry, Very good looking image. The Nikor 500 has produced excellent contrast and colors. The fact that the Snipe is having a worm in its beaks makes the picture look more interesting. It is difficult to deal with the cluttered background. It also adds a sense of environment to the picture. How long did you have to wait to get this picture?

He may be called a Common Snipe, but he is not common to me. I think this is the first time I have seen one. Excellent shot showing him off perfectly. Beautiful natural colors and excellent details of the entire bird. That is some beak!!! Love the natural setting.

Hi Harry. This is a very good close up of the Snipe . You have fine detail and sharp focusing. your use of the light has given rich but still natural looking colours. The bird has some nice markings which you show so well TFS.

For the longest time I thought this bird was a prank to play on folks...and not until I grew that I learned it truly existed...and as you do...always...clear, crisp, well focused, centered and balance colour-wise..What more could one ask?!

Harry, when people see some great technical event that they don't fully understand, as they are still learning the art themselves they call it "magic". This shot to me is magic.

You have given us a simple bird, but through your capture with this camera, lens and beanbag arrangement, and with a little PP, you have made it pop, and all this at a mere 187K. The colours are awesome both on the bird and the background, and with all this colour the bird stands out well. He's standing in mud, but he looks good. You timed it well with him picking at that stem, while turning his eye to the camera to give you the catchlight. Depth of field is shallow, but you have the bird perfectly positioned in your focal range. It's all good. This is the kind of shot I like to study to learn from.

Hello Harry,

This is a very good, sharp shot of the snipe. Its patterned, plummage shows up very well as does its green legs and the reflected glint in its eye.

It is so good to see it feeding in its natural habitat.
