[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is Cloudless Sulphur (Phoebis sennae).

This is one from my archives and I shot this in butterfly park of ARTIS zoo in Amsterdam.

Shooting butterflies in an enclosed area like a butterfly park is always a challenge because of the subdued light conditions. What I usually do is use fill in flash to compensate for the lack of light. I also set the flash output to -1/3 to make sure it gives only sufficient light to brighten up the subject and leave the details in the BG.

Thijs (pentaxfriend) who is to accompany me to photo outings in Netherlands is an expert shooter in such situations.

hello Goutham

Hi Goutham,
A very nicely exposed shot of these beautiful butterflies.
The colour is quite sublime, and the fine details in the wings are clearly visible.
Very nice work.

Dear Goutham!

Although your picture lacks a little bit of light and "punch", it still is very pleasant mainly because of the position of the butterflies and their magnificent colours. The perfect sharpness compensates the lack of light and reveals superb details.

Kind regards

Hi Goutham,
a fine close-up picture with a nice action taekn with good sharpness and good POV.
Agree with Marcus, it need more "punch", the contrast are low and the picture looks a bit pale and dull. I did a WS to show.
Otherwise it's good.
Well done, mf

Hi Goutham,
A nice mating shot of the cloudless sulphurs. Sharp details and a lovely composition. Thanks a lot for sharing.
