Hallo Niek,
Erg mooi.
Groet,
Peter

Hi Niek,
I love this photo. I have been looking for something like this with just one tree for a while now as I really love how they turn out. You may have seen may attempt at one in the photo Lone Tree.
This picture is really beautifully captured. The tree is positioned nicely and The long exposure creates a great effect in the sky. The colours are really nice and vivid in the sky and the grass. I also like how the tree is silhouetted and not in colour.
Excellent capture and TFS

Hello Niek,
very stunning indeed. Why?
The sky is so dramatic in splashing blue colours like a big wind coming and moving it.
The beauty of the clusters of green grass gives a good artistic and graphical effect.
The low angle gives a challenge to the eye. The silhouetted tree is so well placed to give a powerful subject included.
well thought and well done shot.
Regards,
Foozi

Ciao Niek. Magnifcient tree in silouette against the impressive and superb dramatic sky. Top sharp. The best space's managment.

Awesome Niek, I admire your work with landscapes.
This 20 second exposure worked out very well, and has produced a winning image..
In the book of "Cheek" anyway :)
I just won a copy of the "Viveza 2" program by Nik software. It's supposed to eliminate the need for masking/layering when doing your image enhancements..
Heard of it?

Hallo Niek
A very beautiful photo with lots of details to appreciate. The way you captured the sky and the clouds are so beautiful to look at. The lonesome tree adds extra pizzazz to this great scene. The bright colours in your image spoil my eyes. It is as if the blues are bluer, the greens, greener and the white of the clouds whiter. A lovely scenery. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.

ooooh...who is that handsome fellow you got to pose for your intro page photo? :)
I can see that you still enjoy your Lee filter system...interesting effect. I feel like I am being sucked into the distance.
We are leaving August 12 for the far north (Yukon, Northwest Territories and Alaska). Want to see autumn in the Arctic Tundra. We'll be gone 5-7 weeks. We just now learned that we won the Denali lottery meaning that we can drive our own vehicle into the park! The shuttle buses stop on September 6 and we get to drive the whole road on the 19th. Now all we need is good weather and good luck. Actually the good fall colors will be gone by then but hopefully there will be some animals and landscapes worthy of photographing!!

Hello Niek,
I remember this view and here it looks fantastic and very dramatic as if the tree dispersed the clouds! A beautiful composition with great depth and in beautiful colours.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Hello Niek,
I just was wondering how you made the sky look so dynamic..the answer is in your note :-)
Like you I like solitary trees a lot and here I like especially the contrast between the static ground and the movement of the clouds. A very good idea!
I wish you a nice week.
kind regards
Anne

Hi Niek
A nice re-visit of this spot from you with you cool new filters :) and a great approach, as well.
This place does indeed call for originality and artist statement as the composition i've seen here are classic and simple, thus making the artist and his/her technique stand out so well.
And it's exactly that case here, where your filter staking idea worked superbly and gave you just the right shutter speed to capture that motion in the clouds and make this such a dynamic shot.
To be honest, i've been looking to create this exact effect myself, too, but never really found the good conditions for it yet...my hat's off to you here for positioning yourself correctly and nailing it!
Well done, my friend.
Bravo and TFS

Dear Nick,
The evening colours after 9 pm are stunning and your photograph is describing this natural event in perfect manner, a true still life painting!
Evelynn has the technical ''knowhow'' to describe the effect of this photo - and I am really pleased to be able to view it!!
The focus on the lonely tree emphasises the special atmosphere in this marshland.
Were you flat on the ground to get this view?
The result is stunning.
Have a nice evening
Warm Greetings
Ingrid
