Hallo Lou,

hello Lou,
Well taken picture of this fast creature! It seems that you had the opportunity to take several shots of it. May be the sand was too hot!
Beautiful metallic reflections on the carapace of the Cicindela.
Thanks and kind regards

Hi Lou,

A fascinating looking beetle with those marvelous iridescent colors! An excellent view of the entire insect with superb colors, details and textures. I also love the head view - the pinks and greens are even more visible.

Hi Laurens,
very lively capture of that tiger beetle, taken from a very favourable closely approached side view, and obviously also most carefully approached, as these beetles are always very alert and taking off as quickly as a fly. Very impressive also the portraits in the workshop, the frontal one in particular, where we can see the beetles razor sharp stabbing jaws from awfully close distance, and the mother-of-pearl iridescent colours of its legs. Great documentation. I like your short description of the way you recommend to approach such a cicindela beetle. With thanks, and best regards,

Hi Laurens,
I really enjoy your image of this Tiger Beetle. You got very low and therefore your point of view is excellent, sharpness is very good and the depth of field is very close to ideal for this tiny specimen. Also, having the sun at your back as you do has really helped to show the micro-structure in the elytra! As the beetle had its legs quite extended, it must have been very HOT on the sand! Also, your approach must have been very slow and careful, as filling a frame with a 90mm lens with these shy beetles in not easy!
