Its time for another photo of the Archemerberg, (Archermer mountain) or should I say from it, since this is taken from the top of the mountain. Don't be fooled, it just 80 meters high so more a hill then a mountain. But for us lowlanders this is something we can't see that often. I am actually looking toward the city that I live, which is about 20 kilomers away.
You can see from the heathland that it is still early in the season.

PP talk: little rotation, a tat of contrast and saturation, USM and frame. I thought about cloning out the little pole in the front, but decided not to do it, because this is a sign telling people not to walk on the heathland.

I used a filter but forgot if it was my grad ND filter or my polarizer, because inbetween some shoots I changed. (Does anybody has a good trick to rember such changes as changing of filters and lenses?)

Wow, what a great landscape ! This sky is really fantastic, with those big white clouds. Good details, goodcolorsand good composition. Well done !

I like the clouds and the sky:)
great landscape!
Excellent light, very sharp and beauful shot!
Thanks Ana:)

Hi Niek,
This is landscape photography at its best! Classical but still working...
Colours of summer are beginning to emerge, and I appreciate the inclusion of the dirt road...
Superb sky! Teeny weeny questionmark on the pole?

Hi Niek,

What ND filter did you get? It seems that the sky is very saturated if you used a grad ND filter. My ND filter doesn't do that, but then it is only a one stop filter. I just bought a 2 stop one but haven't used it yet. I noticed your last post also had a very saturated sky. I was reading about polarizer filters. It said to be careful not to set it on the maximum polarizing because the image would be unnaturally saturated in the center.

As to remembering which filter I have no advice. I sometimes I forget I have one on at all!! Everyone says take notes, take notes! I finally got some cargo pants with all kinds of pockets. And I am about ready to label them, as I can't remember which filter or lens cap or whatever is in which pocket. Now I have to designate one pocket for pencil and notepad!!

If you like these wide open skies, you are going to love Montana!..."Big Sky Country" they call it. I can see why bicycling is so popular where you live. I biked through parts of Europe many years ago and can see we should have gone up your way. After about a month we ran into the Alps and gave up and started hitch hiking! It's a really nice landscape shot. I'll be back in two weeks.

Nice landscape Niek,
Good detail, colours and sharpness. exposure and lighting are good. Good POV and composition.

Thanks for posting, enjoy the rest of the week.

Hello Niek, its a really nice sky and I like the tone of the landscape but overall unless its focused on one or the other I feel you need some sort of composition. However, I see a lot of shots like this which are very popular so its only my humble opinion. Sometimes a deep blue sky is very pleasing but I very often apply a warming filter in PP. I don't think the colour is over saturated here BTW. Interesting tip Evelynn mentions about the polarizer, must keep that in mind. Regards Steve.

Hi Niek,
I really like this photo, especially the sky, it's so warm an inviting. I can feel the sun on my face right now. It's like a breath of fresh air. Janice/Canada....cause there's another Janice in New Zealand :)

Hi Niek
One of the advantages of TN of course is seeing photos of places you have never been and this lovely landscape of yours brings a small piece of the Netherlands right into view. Mostly flat but never boring and over time I've seen more of the Netherlands looking at you and your father's photos.
Excellent sky & clouds, but (IMO) just a slight pity that the centre of the shot darked out a bit and one can not see much detail. The small piece of road at the bottom right sort of leads the eye into the photo.
Good work and TFS.

Good landscape and great sky!
Very interesting note.

Hello Niek!
Very nice landscape.I liked large DOF,POV,details, colors, framing and composition a lot.

Hi Nek, Another excellent photo you have take my friend, Excellent details, BG is very crisp great job, TFS Kyle

Hi Niek,
A very impressive landscape! Dramatic clouds and blue sky look great. I like the play of sunlight and shadows across the land. Very nice!

Hi Niek.. nice picture here. I really like the trail that you can see all the way on the right side. It gives me a sense of how hard you had to work to get this shot, and it makes me appreciate it more. I love the sky.. this camera of yours and these filters seem to do a great job of capturing clouds beautifully. By the way, you said in your PP talk that you did something with "USM" -- what is USM?

Hoi Niek, prachtig plaatje, echt een mooi stukje holland. Vooral de wolken partij is indrukwekkend.
Goed weekend Reina

Hoi Niek.
Goed werk.

Hi Niek,
Excellent landscape capture, I like it!
Nice blend of land and sky, great color. I like the landscape seen with the light and shadow breaks, provided by the partly cloudy sky...
I might've removed the post FG, center left.
Very well done!

Hi Niek,
A lovely landscape image, so flat that it seems to stretch endlessly.I like the division between the foreground with the dark earthy heath and the background of green fields made darker by the shadow of the clouds. The filter has maybe over saturated the top area of the sky a touch. All in all very nice...TFS.
Regards, david

Hello, it's a incredible DOF in this photo. I like the composition of the clouds.
