European Robin,
Erithacus rubecula

It is generally only the males who sing. At the robin also the female birds sings, they do this especially to mark their territory and to lure a partner. Robins sing hardest, longest in spring if they are in search of a partner. The singing in the early morning has generally do with the demarcation of the territory. Differently than the most of our birds, redbreasts sing almost the complete year. If they are in the autumn in moult, they become clearly quieter. In the autumn both young and adult birds of both lines sing their ' autumn song ' that it is meant to indicate the winter territory. Males start frequently already in February with their spring song. As soon as the choice on a female has fallen, the male lures the female by offering food. He brings the female tasty bits where she begs with trembling wings for. The robin female makes the nest, she is the bilder.

The light was not to good so I made this photo with
1600 ISO, so you see some noise on the photo.

Hoi Paula,
Een leuke foto maar inderdaad de scherpte is minder misschien had je beter kunnen flitsen.

Hi Paula,
The pose and position of the bird on the branch is well composed and I like the natural colours.Good DOF but a shame about the noise and the focus needs more attention.Take care.
Regards, David

Very nice pose for you! I like the composition a lot. The noise does not bother me, but the lack of sharpness must be a bit of disapointment for you. What kind of PP have you done in photoshop?

I have done a workshop on it... remove noise and sharpen a bit. Let me know if you like it?

Hello Paula,

This is a very good composition and POV. We do feel the 1600 ISO because of the noise and ... focus could be more on the spot (but) I wonder which kind of lens you use as I don't know about your camera? This is well done and well seen with a beautiful model ;) Thanks,
Claudine

Hello Paul,
wonderful composition, I like the background colors a lot. Very well captured, good sharpness and wonderful details. The background is a bit noisy, but that can be corrected very easy.

Hello Paula,
Very nice composition showing this little Robin nicely posed on a branch. Nice colours too. Pity about the noise but I'd guess you've cropped it quite a bit to get closer and hence the noise?
TFS, Ulla

Hi Paula,
Nice work, nicly composed and capture photo great colors.

Biswarup

nice shot. well composed with saturated colours.
could be sharper but that probably has more to do with capabilities of your lens than your own capabilities!

all the best
