Hi Niek,
A nice capture of river rauma, you did a great job with the merging of the 2 raw coversion,I have no clue where the word Rauma is coming from although I have been as well a few times in a Finish port called rauma,in about 2 weeks I will go as well on a 2 week trip to Norway (svalbard),hopig for some nice photography possibilities
Regards,
Paul

Cool and clear waters. You certainly knew when to use the Polarizer filter and how to take this stunning flowing waters images...are you or is this North of Ivan and Ulla? I don't have my map handy but guess it would be...and you have some snow in summer which must be usual for longitude and altitude eh? any gold in them thar' hills?

Hello Niek,
Good work. I prefer this one to yesterday's upload. Especially composition-wise.
Well done with that wide-angle. No noise through this long exposure. Well 1/3 is not so long actually.
At the end of your interesting note, you are mentioned taht merge. Do I understand you if I say:
You processed two times the same RAW image in ACR with a different white balance and afterwards you merged them in Photoshop?
Thanks for sharing,
Annick

You chose a fine perspective to take this picture of a mountain river, Niek. I like the trees and the ice on the mountain slope.
The vertical image shows the river beautifully with very fine details and colours on the rocks in the foreground. The slow shutter speed has been chosen well to give the flowing water that beautiful smooth look.
Thanks and all the best.

Hi Niek
Another very beautiful photo from and a lesson for me, this time.
The idea to merge two photos converted from the same RAW but at different temperatures is indeed terrific! It will surely render the real tones and warmth of all the elements in the scene. I must only improve on my photoshop skills...i'm very poor at merging and dealing with layers :(
Anyway the result is stunning and it definitely gets the natural values that you were looking for: the rocks look impeccable (their grey is totally natural and the moss on them is great) while the water is absolutely cool.
The rest of the composition is also good, with the nice waterfall and the forest in the BG. A bit of a shame we can't see that big cliff behind :)
Anyway, wonderful work my friend!
Bravo and TFS

Well now... aren't you getting clever. I'm still working on shooting RAW!! I just can't decide if I want to deal with files that are so large!.. That is a clever merge of two different white balance settings. I would never have though to do that.
I like your image and love that lens too. It is a good friend to a landscaper. I like the dominant foreground rocks leading to the waterfall/rapids. The shutter speed feels just a tad too long for me...which must mean that water was moving really quickly. I generally like to use 1/2 second to maintain a bit more texture in the water... but your shutter speed is faster than that! ...so I guess it is just trial and error in each situtation.

Hello Niek!
Another fantastic landscape. I don't know why exactly, but water on your picture looks really fresh and cold. Beautifull composition with rocks and green plants.

Hi Niek,
This is a superb picture. Your technique is very interesting; I have never tried something like that. Colors, exposure and composition are wonderful! Congrats,

Hi Niek
A lovely landscape. The surrounding rocks are so rugged and the river is so soft looking. There are lots of nice textures and colours here. Nicely put together and well balanced. A rugged but beautiful place.

Hello Niek, This is very nice shot and superb lighting. I like the frame and the water control. Excellent focus and good colors. Ganesh
Hi Niek,
I also had the chance to shoot some waterfalls recently, it can be a precarious business perched on the edge of slippery rocks and spray in the air everywhere! I really like your composition here, the detail in the rocks in both FG and BG is very well captured.
The exposure time is very nice too, giving a lovely sense of movement in the foam, although this does look a little OE is some small areas. The colour of the water is great though, and i like the mossy covered boulder in the BG too. All round an excellent shot, very well done!

Goedemorgen Niek,
Klasse werk.
Prettig weekend en TFS BOB
