[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
One of the easiest accessable glaciers in Norway is the Briksdal glacier. It takes you about 1 hour, walking from the parking place to the glacier. This place is photografhed so much and I wanted to have another, not so common picture.
So I walked away from the foot of the glacier, somewhat higher in the landscape. A part of the solid rocks left was important for the picture. Also I waited to capture the glacier walkers on the right side. They were essential to show how big this glacier and the iceblocks in reality is.
The nice blue color occurs because the ice crystals are breaking the day light.
I hope you like this picture in the way I do.

Interesting point of view I like the blue jagged appearance of the ice.

I absolutely love this picture! Composition, with the solid rock on the left and the climbers on the ice, is perfect. Colors are great and details are very good. I have a few nice New Zealand (Franz Josef and Fox) Glacier pictures and you inspired me to take a closer look whether they're good enough to post on TN. :) Well done & TFS!

Regards,
Pieter

This is a fantastic shot. Showing the people on the glacier has given a true indication on the size which is colossal. Awesome work. Thanks.

I like the blue shadows in the hollows. It looks great!

A very unusual picture, it makes a change to see one like it here. I really like the blue colours and the people add a sense of scale.
Well done.

Very nice picture of Briksdal glacier, with its unusual blue color... What is funny: we were there at the same time, end of July 2004!

The colours are fantastic! The glacier is really big!
Congratulation!

Great shot! Thanks for including the people in the photo, it's almost hard to believe how large the glacier is. I really like the blues as well.

Hello Ruud,
Very nice shot illustrating the power of ice, through this tiny people silhouettes. That brings to me an idea how it looked in Poland during the ice-age. Very nice colours too!
Best greetings,
Michal
