[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This is taken on the small island of Fedje. It is located north of Bergen, and has about 600 inhabitants (1.1.09: 596 inhabitants). The island had almost 1000 inhabitants about fifty years ago, but many move out from the island. Now they are famous because of a submarine which sank just outside Fedje in 1944. There were a lot of mercury in it, and there has been a discussion about what they shall do with it. The government in Norway listened to the locals, and they will lift the submarine probably next year.
This shot is taken just right next to the other one I posted some days ago (You can see a more accurate descrption on that one). I found a red, old plank with the road. I placed it next to some flowers, and voilą!
