An anthill by the lakeside, quite a common sight when you trek around the forest.

This one is rather big for my place, sorry there is no scaling but I guess the nearby trees will give an idea…

I don’t know much about the life of ants so I have no idea why they picked this particular location close to the water for establishing the headquarters!

Hi Pablo,
It seems a very big anthill! I thought that such a big ant houses can be found in tropical places. Lovely light contrast between dark side and trees and bright light in water. It gives some kind of mystery to this view.
Best regards, José M.

Hi Pablo,
This quite big anthill. Nicely composed picture, allocating proportional space for the anthill within this frame. Nice shady environment, but some may want to view the hill more clearly, slightly brigthening the image may help.
Nice shot.

Ben Lakitan

Hello Pablo,
A fine picture to appreciate. In my country some species of termites (or white ants) build huge mounds to house their colonies. TFS.

Hi Pablo.
Very complicated lighting and you had handled with it. Very expressive result: the combination of lights and darks is very nice as well as the combination of colours and colour tones. I like the sharpness of the whole image and perfect detailed fine objects. Perfect done and TFS.

Hi Pablo,
I had no idea you had ant hills that big in Norway. You did very well with the difficult lighting conditions here. Nice colors and detail across the entire tonal range. That is alot of ants!
Well shown.

Hello Pablo,

Excllent work, great details very crisp, Nicly composed and capture photo, I really love this POV nice Job,

TFS Kyle

Good Morning Pablo!
wow..what a huge anthill!! Now what kind of ants? Red, Black, Brown? just curious what kind of ant would build such a huge hill..never seen such a thing..or never knew what it was maybe? I would assume if one stepped on that by mistake or sat on it..they wouldn't be to happy later correct?
Nice shot and the trees do give it a good perspective.. TFS

Woow! Now that's a huge anthill!
I've seen quite a few but this is definately a very very big one!
The idea to present the trees in the frame is great for the scaling - you were right here! :)
Excellent POV, very nice sharp details and lovely, well saturated colors.
Bravo and TFS

The BG is a pretty good scale.
You did a great job here.
In Iguacu, Brazil, in front of the Hotel, we saw HUGE,
red ant hills. This one is BIG for Europe.
Anyway, a GREAT register.
Well done, BRAVO. TFS.
Regards, Mario.

Hello Pablo !
We have lots of them but they are smaller than this one - it really looks huge. Beautiful composition and POV, and I love the blue color of the water in the BG. Very well done !

Hi Pablo!
They say forest ants are good foresters. Very good capture speaking much about Nature: trees, a lake, a hill...

Hello Pablo & Good Morning.
Well composed shot of your over-sized ant hill with good details and exposure..Why they made this location their nesting spot is anybodies guess I suppose..and they're not telling ;)
Have a good weekend mf..

Hello Pablo,
I never saw such a big anthill; this is almost incredible; really amazing... I like this POV along with those great details you caught. This is very weird, what an impressive capture ;) Well done and TFS,

Hi friend!

Saludos Pablo, gracias por compatir este inigualable paisaje, buena composiciòn.Sira

Hi Pablo,
I wouldn't expect an anthill this close the the water either. I've also never seen such a huge one. Must be the lush vegitation that allows to grow such a huge colloney. You do have a little of a blue cast on the photo, but the rest of the photo is great, especially the unique POV.

Hi Pablo. Good to see some of the different places around Norway. Good composition and note. Murray.

that is some anthill..more like the termite mounds in africa..
the lighting and atmosphere says..stay away..
very mysterious..

Hi Pablo,

That's a pretty big anthill.
And you've made a very nice picture of it. I like the composition here. The combination of the anthill, the trees and the view on the water makes it very interesting to look at. Nice natural colours, good details and sharpness.
Thanks for sharing!

Hi Pablo,

You did very well with the difficult lighting conditions here, but the wrinkles in water give a good variation between the green pine trees. Very well done!

Hi Pablo,
That is a huge anthill gauging by the scale of the tree. Wonderful portrayal of this setting by the lakeside and the charming ambience. I like the effects of lighted and shadow areas and the pristine blue waters. Excellent POV to present the scenic beauty and very nicely composed. Kudos.

Hi Pablo,

A good POV of the anthill near the lake, the photo has a good composition, DOF and nice colors. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting mound, looks loose, camouflaged. In the tropics I found ones that were huge mound mounds. In my California gardens they usually were just holes in the ground, maybe a tiny pile of loose dirt, not very noticeable.
