[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Closeup of one of the grasshopers I've spotted in sunny day on calcareous meadows in Durbaszka Mt. (Male Pieniny), Poland. This bug was so lazy and 'jumpless' ;-), that I could take a lot of close-ups. I don't know the species name, if you can help identify this insect, please help.

Note: thanks for identification to Philippe Moniotte (pgmoni) it is Decticus verrucivorus (Tettigoniidae).

It has a long ovipositor (not shown on this photo), so it is a female.

What a close shot, it is superb Michal! The details are amazing, the colours beautiful and lucky you to have crossed such a beautiful insect. The sharpness and nice light add to the composition. Thank you,

Nice close-up of Decticus verrucivorus, the Wart-Biter. Indeed a tettigoniidae.
