Polish pines slowly woke up to life. I love looking at these trees and smelling it because of resin...

Pine is believed to be strengthening and cleansing and has long been held sacred in many cultures.

Pine resin has a mild citruslike, green, balsamic fragrance. Native Americans used pine in their incense mixtures and chewed it to treat throat infections. They also used the resin to heal wounds and bruises.

In the ancient book, Natural Science, Hildegard von Bingen wrote of pine: "The pine tree is more warm than cold and contains energies and powers. The tree is a symbol for strength."

I like. Good photo. Very interesting.

Quite an arty shot Joanna. Nice colours and patterns.
You could possibly have turned down the brightness just a touch, there is a little bit of glare.
Interesting note about the health aspects of pine.

Dobry pomysł, ładnie to wygląda. Sam zestaw kolorów przyciąga uwagę. Kiedyś też pokazywałem żywicę ale na drzewie wiśni. Dobre wykonanie i opis.

Well seen Joanna. Structure is very nice. Good details and colors. Well done. TFS!

Interesting shot Joanna! It almost looks like a view from the martian land rover as it descends for a landing! ;-)) Great details, colors and textures. I like it. Well done.

Quote me if I'm wrong, was it not used as glue as well?
Excelent capture and well composed. Well done on your research.

This shot looks like an abstract painting. The pastel shading is quite beautiful.

Beautiful textures on the bark Joanna. I also sse the resin. Our accasia trees also oozes a type of resin, but is is sweet and edible. Used to eat it a lot as a kid. The shell is hard and chewy, the inside syrripy and sweet. I think we need a textures or shapes in nature category to post this type of pic in, I have taken a couple of bark/fruit.seed shots that I would like to post sometime, so shall we ask for such a categoy?
TFS this nice picture.

Interesting post!
Nice idea for this shot and very nice note.
I would never thought that pine can be a symbol of strenght for this is one of the most fragile trees. I agree that the smell of pines resin is very special. I like it very much.
Thanks for sharing.

Composition photographique belle et intéressante. Jolies couleurs et bonne netteté. Note instructive.
Well done !

Very interesting picture Joanna. The patterns makes it look like a modern, abstract painting. Lovely soft colours and the composition is very good - may be you coul try to crop out some of the top to get the dark spot (a water drop I guess) in the upper third of the composition - just a suggestion;-).

Good color and composition, I like your artistic approach on nature. TFS.

Hello Joanna. i'm seeing that Poland is getting warm colours, the beauty of snow is getting away to give place of those magnifficent colours. it is a great photo! i love this colours, it's such like a painting with great feeling! very well done indeed!!!

Niesamowita faktura tego drzewa. Wylada troche jak jakiś materiał.

Joanna, I have the feeling focus is a little soft, but that's a nice photo. Indeed, it does look like a painting, and that's great.

Wspaniałą jest taka drewniana faktura. Ludzie usiłują ją naśladować nieudolnie a natura jest cudowna.

I looked at this lovely photo before and I guess I forgot to add points. Anyway, the coloring is beautiful, great capture!
