Hello Jacob,
What a nice surprise to have at bedtime!! This is a lovely capture of this pretty butterfly. The wings show their transparency very well here and details are very sharp. I like its pose on the leaf too and the green background. Lucky and well done!

a beautiful and interesting capture. Among the 3 European Parnassius species, mnemosyne is clearly the most local. You show a well focused and sharp picture of that species!

Mi piace soprattutto come sei riuscito a riprodurre il bianco delle ali e la parte trasparente, che di solito riflette la luce.

Oh.... What a great title that suits this picture so well... This is a superb specie that I have never seen before. I find really amazing the fact that we can see the transparency of its wings that takes the color of their environment. This is really interesting and well done. Thanks for this nice moment,

Very good picture of this butterfly. Nice, simple composition, good exposition.
Also nice natural colours and good sharpness.

What concerns the distribution, I'm not a specialist but my friend, who knows butterflies very well (known here as cataclysta) says that this species can be found in that region.

Hi Jacob, a great story and a worthwhile read. Very nice pov on this pretty little Butterfly, shows the nice sharp and clear markings. Good light and great dof. I like the way the tips of the wings emulate the leaf it is on. Great work.

How could I miss this one!
A great shot of a male Clouded Apollo, a very rare and protected species in Sweden. I photographed one years ago and scanned in the slide, but its is not as good a capture as this one.
Excellent POV, sharpness, good colours in natural lighting and the central composition works well.
I like the bedtime story story.

Yes, this species is very good known in this area. The problem is that all the books about butterflies written by western Europe people contains not verified or old informations. If you would like to know something more about our butterfly fauna - just ask me ;-)
