[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
We all know, that Gert [ellis49] is best photographer of Nuthaches on TN. So it is obvious that my first [and still quite poor :-)] picture of this cute bird I dedicate to my old, Swedish friend! Kowalik is Polish name of Nuthach of course :-)

Photo taken yesterday with quite good light conditions. Another fast bird and another not so good shot. I like pose, light and colours. I don't like composition with terrible plastic bag and poor sharpness. I'm still loosing fight with my new cam :-) But I won't surrender :-))) Now I'm waiting for my first shot taken with 400D which will be significantly better then from my old S2 IS :-)

Ignoring the net is is a very fine close shot of the Nuthatch in a nice pose. I like the light and colours and details are very sharp. Beautiful background too.

You seem to be having great fun with that 400D! I've just bought a 20D on ebay but it hasn't arrived yet :(

Superb image that has great lighting and natural colours.
The DOF is splendid!

Hi Greg. Each shot gets better .You have used a f/9 which i think has given bettr detail all over. good natural colours. with a good POV. well done .TFS.

une tres jolie pose de cette sitelle,bon le filet n'est pas ce qu'il y a de mieux mais peut etre ne se pose t'elle jamais avant de venir manger!
les couleurs sont absolument naturelles et l'oiseau est assez net.

It's a very good picture of Nötväckan(Kowalik)with for a newbie ;-), good POV, nice colours and fine details.
It's not easy to go from a Compact Digi but you manage very well my friend. After a couple of days you will handle your new
camera like a Pro.

Great shot on the Nuthatch! I think they are really special birds. you captured it really well, with great details and colours. I love the stripe that crosses the eyes, and the light in the eye.

Ok - The plastic bag can go :)
But despite what you say, there's good details here. The exposure and colors look great too..
Perhaps a slightly smaller aperture/faster s-speed would've tightened it up a bit?
Everytime you go below the baseline rule of FL = shutter-speed, it gets harder to make a sharp image..IMHO :)

Yes, I'm still having learning, but I hope you will enjoy it - I love my Canon camera . . . Birds are hard too Greg, you'll have to practice on some ducks!!! YEAH!
