I knew someone would photograph it!
It was too cloudy here in N.W. England!
Well done! A great series of shots recording a very dramatic event!

What a neat trick!! Back in the day we used to use 3 pieces of Kodak film which had been overexposed for the purpose but that would never have covered a lens today...I was working with a small lens...I suppose one could use a 4x5 piece but that would be pricey..Your neat invention worked super well and you surely have a neat panel montage...Great recording of the moments!

No eclipse here so I'm really happy to see your shot. A wonderful presentation of the six different views. You did a great job. Now I know what to do with my old floppies!

In India too, we had a partial solar eclipse yesterday, Greg. The sky was cloudy around here (is's monsoon season) and sighting was erratic.
Your set of pictures gives a good idea about this occurance seen from your country.
Thanks for it.

Indeed the eclipse of the sun is well worth recording and using an old floppy disc is a great way of doing it. This montage of six stages of the eclipse is great and a fine contribution to TN!
Thanks for sharing this rare sequence.
Best wishes, Ivan

Hi Greg, glad to see you are still looking to the heavens for such things. Glad to see you have held onto the floppy :) Yes no doult in 2011 we will be at it again. Actually I would love to witness a total eclipse next time, wouldnt it be great if there was a TN meet at such a special event.

I read that is dangerous for a camera to shoot against tha sun, and when i saw your pictures i was wandering what you did to take this picture.Very good method, and also the results. Probably in romania was clody or (...how knows)because i didn't hear enything about this solar eclipse. So, TFS
