[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
At the beginning of September I posted a photo of brimstone. As you can see here the butterfly is covered with flower. Two or three days later I went to the same place and I managed to take a similar photo but this time without the disturbing plants ;-)

Brimstone is so often presented on TN so this time note is about something different.

Yellow is the color evoked by light that stimulates both the L and M (long and medium wavelength) cone cells of the retina about equally, but does not significantly stimulate the S (short-wavelength) cone cells; that is, light with much red and green but not very much blue. Light with a wavelength of 570–580 nm is yellow, as is light with a suitable mixture of somewhat longer and shorter wavelengths.

The word yellow comes from the Old English geolu, or geolwe which derived from the Proto-Germanic word gelwaz. The oldest known usage of this word in English is in the Old English poem Beowulf, in a description of a shield made of wood from a yew tree

Yellow Nature ;-)

Yellow birch (Betula alleghaniensis)
Yellow-breasted Chats (Icteria virens) are large foraging songbird found in southern parts of Canada, the United States, Mexico, and Central America.
Yellow-fever mosquito is a mosquito in the Aedes genus, so named because they transmit dengue fever and yellow fever, the mosquito-born viruses.
Yellow-green alga, also called xanthophytes, is a class of algae in the Heterokontophyta division. Unlike other heterokonts, yellow-green algae's chloroplasts do not contain fucoxanthin, which is why they have a lighter color.
Yellowjackets are black-and-yellow wasps of the genus Vespula or Dolichovespula (though some can be black-and-white, the most notable of these being the bald-faced hornet, Dolichovespula maculate).
Yellowtail is the common name for dozens of different fish species that have yellow tails or a yellow body.

Hello Krzysztof,
We are neighbours today!
A very fine shot of a Brimstone taken with excellent sharpness and lighting and set in a pleasing composition. A common species like this looks good in this fine quality image.
Well done and have a good weekend,

Hi Krzysztof

Yellow from Coldplay should be the soundtrack of this post! :)
Excellent presentation here my friend, with yet another very good shot of this lovely butterfly species.
The side POV allowed you to get the entire subject in great focus and due to that, all the details are very sharp.
I particularly like that black border that it has around its wings - its so well emphasized but the gorgeous BG.
Splendid work all around!

Bravo and TFS

A beautiful feeding yellow both nicely front and back lighted, exposed expertly Krzysztof, the fuzzy BG in complimentary colours concentrates the viewers attention entirely on the b.fly and the tiny flower group. A fine image my friend.

Hello Krzysztof,

You have shown very well this beautiful butterfly in your photo. I lke the way you have used the light. You have rendered such nice and delicate color tones on the wings with the light comming through. I also like the way colors of the insect blends into the colors of the background.

Thank you for sharing,
Cristian

Hello Krzysztof,
Reading your title I was thinking about Donovan's famous song..it brought memories back. I like this yellow on yellow picture a lot. I know also that it is not so easy to take pictures of a Brimstone. May be the framing could have been made in a different way.
Have a nice day
Anne

Hi Krzysztof again.
Fantastic picture with brilliant sharpness and details of the butterfly. Lights and bright colours are amazing too. My congratulations. Perfect job.
Alexei.

Witaj Krzysiek!
WOW! Wyluskac motyla, ktory ma barwy kamuflujace! Cos pieknego. Ujela mnie Twoja kompozycja i umiejetnosc pokazania tego co najwazniejsze. Motyl jak malowanie, ostry z byszczacym oczkiem. Na dodatek to pieknie przeswitujace przez skrzydelka swiatelko. No i rozmyte tlo.
Ciekawa notatka i jakze inna.

Gratuluje i pozdrawiam - Roma
