Good news - today is first day of SPRING! Week ago we had got heavy snowfalls and temperatures below zero Celsius degrees and no one believed that winter will end. Today sky is blue and +15C degrees around noon. I went to long walk this morning to look for first flowers. I found five species, four of them you can see on my collage.

Daphne mezereum is a species of Daphne in the flowering plant family Thymelaeaceae, native to most of Europe and western Asia, north to northern Scandinavia and Russia. In southern Europe it is confined to medium to higher elevations and in the subalpine vegetation zone, but descends to near sea level in northern Europe. It is generally confined to soils derived from limestone. The common name is Mezereon.

Anemone ranunculoides, the yellow anemone, yellow wood anemone or buttercup anemone, is a species of herbaceous perennial plant that grows in forests across most of Continental Europe, and less frequently in the Mediterranean region.

Hepatica is a genus of herbaceous perennial plants belonging to the buttercup family, Ranunculaceae. A native of central and northern Europe, Asia and northeastern North America, Hepatica is sometimes called liverleaf or "liverwort". It should not be confused with liverworts, which may also be called "Hepaticae". Some botanists include Hepatica within a wider interpretation of Anemone.

Galanthus is a small genus of about 20 species in the family Amaryllidaceae commonly known as Snowdrops. Most flower in winter, before the Spring Equinox (21st March in the Northern Hemisphere) but certain species flower in late autumn and early spring.

HI Greg,
What an exquisite montage of these colorful spring flowers.
Certainly brings cheer to all after a cold winter.
Each bloom is gorgeous, with razor sharp details, excellent POV, and rich colors.
A great juxtaposition and choice of these harbingers of spring.

Dear Grzegorz

Your composition and collage simply is superb. The flowers are so beautifully coloured and the whole is very seasonal. I like all these coloured spots a lot and would like to highlight he unity and the tender beauty of the background colours that suit the main subjects very well.

Kind regards

Fine collage of flowers with different colors and shapes, beautiful. tfs.

Hallo Greg
What a most colourful collage. Each individual image in this pretty collection actually deserves a smiley on its own, as all of them have such lovely magnetism and charisma brought across. Thanks for delighting my eyes and my heart with this arrangement of "spring is in the air" photographs. Personally the 3rd image with the purple flower is my favourite, and I am sure you know the reason for that. Each image is really beautiful, super sharp and the details clear. Thanks for sharing. Your colourful contributions to the site are much appreciated, and it is a pity that you do not share that often. Kind regards.

Hi Greg

Great collage, I especially like the Hepatica which I don't think I've seen before. I do love blue or purple flowers.
Great composition and sharpness and well presented.

Hi Grzeg,

I'm glad spring arrived to Your region and gave You such a great gift as blooming. From botanical POV this is the most interesting season of the year. :)

Your collage is very elegant and having a breathtaking color harmony. Each piece of the quartette is good, but I especially love the Hepatica and the Anemone shots, they're sharp as razorblade and very spectacular. You have eyes (mind if You prefer...) for making such an aesthetic work. Bravo MF.

I sent an e-mail today, because from yesterday I'm "management secretary" of our fungi association and I need Your special help. But I can't wait for Sunday, when - if there will not be raining - I'll go to the mountains with my sons.

I wish You a fantastic spring, best regards, Wladek

Olá Grzegorz

Witaj Grzegorzu,
Moje gratulacje.
Miłego wieczoru,

Hello Greg,
What a wonderful collage as an introduction to spring! Here it's been a bit later, I'm afraid, but it's on the way! Excellent sharpness and beautiful colours in all four and I like the uniform backgrounds.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Kia ora Red Greg...
I haven't been here on TN for so long and you're the first friend I have looked up. So good to see you posting again. You and Joanna are often in my thoughts, and your little man too. And especially now with the latest news about the terrible plane tragedy in Russia.

You have 4 beautiful and perfectly captured flowers - and they are spring flowers. I do hope your spring is here to stay...We have had our BEST summer ever in Auckland, NZ. We are desperate for rain - but the hot weather has been awesome for us all.

My best regards to you my friend
