We all know that Steve is in troubles with world and with himself.

So I decided to dedicate this picture especially for him. Look Steve - this is Carlina acaulis in Polish it is called Dziewiecsil which could be translated as Nine Powers. This name was created probably by Polish highlanders long time ago. From Medaieaval Ages this plant was known as magical. So magical that it has got nine times more power than others. You've got also at least nine powers Steve. Don't give up, find it! Like in my picture - life is often hard and spiky but also full of beauty. Try to find this beauty and to forget about spikes. Remember - you've got friends around the world, including Lodz :-) Think about it and about nine powers inside you. Acquire new cam soon and start to make new, great photos of your paradisaic place! We'll be waiting for'ya mate!!!

Hello Greg, very interesting plant. Colorful photo, good sharpness and details. Well done.

Great shot Greg!
I hope Steve will see this.
Quite worrying things happen at TN lately. I hope this all will end well.
The photo is very beautiful. Light and shadows create exceptional mood. Details are perfect and the petals looks as if they were made of silver.
I like it very much.

Nice one for Steve, Greg. Yes Steve, we're all waiting for you to get better and return here.
Good shot Greg, it is a prickly plant, but super colours and details. Quite a shiny silver colouring. Good job, thank you

Hello Greg,
Its a nice shot and this flower is very unusual.
The exposure is excellent you've handled the whites perfectly.
Good sharpness and a nice dark BG.
I hope Steve sees this photo,I wish him well.Your note is great.

Hi Greg

You are a special man with a warm Heart. This is a lovely dedication to Steve. Hopefully he will read this and understand that we are all here for him. Remember a trouble shared is a trouble halved.

Nice POV for this shot. The sheen from the petals makes it look metallic. Tack sharp with good detail. Thanks.

Grzegorz, great sharpness, pov and composition.

The picture seems to be a little bit dark, but that's just an opinion.

Apart from that, I do think it's a very beautiful picture.

Very nice dedication Greg,
I hope Steve sees this, He is a very genuine and highly respected member on TN. As Pam says - We're all here for him.
Very good capture Greg, well detailed and superb lighting.
Thanks for posting

Hello Greg a difficult shot here. The white petals and a very bark BG. The overall effect has come out a little too dark. I also think the composition would be improved if there was a little less room on the right and more on the left. It's a nice flower and a kind dedication. Well done.

I've posted a WS to have a go at the dark areas.

Przykro stwierdzic, ale nie widzialem jeszcze tej rosliny... A jesli nawet to sobie nie przypominam. Sa w Botancu? Moze sie w koncu wybierzemy? ;) Nigdy czasu nie masz :P
Zdjecie super. Ostre, kontrastowe w sam raz. Podoba mi sie!

Hello Greg,

I think it's fantastic that you dedicated this picture to Steve. We all feel for sorry for him.

*POV:4, Good, but for me a little more in front of the flower would have been better, so I could have seen more of the flower itself.

*DOF:5, Nothing wrong with the DOF.

*Composition:3, Like Paul already wrote, there is too less space on the left and too much on the right.

*Details:4, Details are sharp enough.

*Exposure:4, I think you handles the whites very well and although I like Paul's workshop also, I do appreciate the dark mood your version has.

*Colors:4, All colors look very natural and vivid.

*Note:3, Not too much information, but the dedication is nice.

*X-factor:3, Nothing really special, but very enjoyable nevertheless.

I like this picture Greg and the dark atmosphere is what I like especially. The composition is what makes this photo not perfect in my opinion. The frame is very peaceful and suits the photo. Well done & TFS!

What a beautiful flower that you have well captured ! In France they are common and call "Carline acaule". Thanks for sharing Greg.

Oh Greg!
Thank you so much.
I'm looking at this with tears streaming from my eyes
....but I'm happy...happy to have such wonderful friends even though they're all miles away.
This is such a beautiful shot too.
I like the lighting and don't find it too dark myself.
Things are OK with me...I spoke to Jan today...we may not get back together soon...but I'll have lots of money to play with...AND buy a NEW CAMERA next week!
Bugger the spikes...I'm single and FREE!
(Boo hoo hoo ;( ;)

Very pretty! I did it firs... but I forget to post :-)
