|Striped Argiope (Argiope bruennichi)|
This spider rarely appeared in Poland and is therefore subject to full protection. For the network characteristic is stabilimentum - zigzags band. There has been continuing its territorial expansion, translated the general warming of Europe. Even in the seventies was recorded only at two sites in Poland. A typical habitat Argiope are sunny, wet meadows, which occurs even in relatively high density. Argiope is a center of the Mediterranean.
Meadows and fallow land around Mosina are now very large colonies of Argiope.
This is apparent especially in the morning foggy night - cobwebs are white with small drops of water ...
As an interesting picture showing the bottom of Argiope stripe. Yellow stripes on his body did not run across it. Two stripes on the abdomen and the head of a strip running along the body of the spider. Stripes on the abdomen cut a thin transverse line.
