Genus: Cheilosia Meigen, 1822
Family: Syrphidae - Hoverflies

The first photo-excursion I was able to make this year. I went to a very nice area with many small lakes and wetland forests in the Vistula Valley. Looking around the forest bottom I saw this small hoverfly (most probably of genus Cheilosia) resting on Ficaria verna flower and watching me curiously :-) When I attempted to take a photo, it really twisted its head to see what's going on. Right after it flew away...

Bonne prise macro Michal!

Félicitations pour le focus et l'éclat des couleurs. Merci pour l'envoie.

Nicely done, Michal. I can see that is a really tiny insect. I know how large is Ficaria verna so the hooverfly must be under 1 cm long.
Beautiful balanced, warm colours.

regards, petru

Very nice macro close up. The yellow and greens are very complimentary to each other and the details of the hoverfly are great!. :)

Hello Michal,
nice colours and details, also good blurred BG. Really lucky and funny close-up.
Best wishes,

Hi Michal,
very impressing close up, powerfully restricted to few elements, flashy but realistic colours.
I like the flower very much, and I think it is not a common one. Perfect!
Thank you, and best regards,

hi michal
j'ai aussi un insecte comme celui-ci mais il ai beaucoup moins net ,je ne sais pas si je le publierais.
merci pour le partage.

Hi Michal!

Another great shot. Soft lighting and perfect exposure delivered a very delicate image. This image can be very informative if people can read it. It demonstrate its body full of pollen that will eventually transported to an other flower.

Nice shot with a lot of softness, TFS.

Wonderful capture with a great POV.
Colors are good!
Great macro with beautiful details!
thanks Ana:)

Great shot!
The picture is coming out great thanks to the good focus you have, the composition and last but not least, the great colour combination!
The yellow flower with the green background creates a fantastic backdrop for the insect.
Well done!
