The details are nice, clear and sharp.

Well composed and nicely framed.

Hey Greg!
Don't be hatefull! i prefer this one than the swallowtail :-) This is a superb shot of a very clear killer! Look at that beards, it looks cool! But as for your vendetta, i shot it on this spring. If you want to see it you can check this link below ;-)

You might have to come to the Butterfly House in NZ to shoot it, Greg.
But this image is great! Definitely suits your mood, you grumpy old thing! And I'm sick of butterflies now, so this big robber fly looks good to me. Try a duck next time.
Have a good Sunday, and sweeten up!

You know how I like frontal POVs and this is not an exception.
The compositions is very strong and I apreciate the agressive framing. I am always "shy" with framings :) Nice shot, MF.
I only have one swallowtail in my gallery, so be patient, I am sure you will get it wherever you are not looking for them.
Have a nice Sunday! PT.

Hi Greg !
You had no luck on this day, nasty Swallowtail was not cooperative, but I'm sure next time you'll have more luck - I hope so, as I would be really pleased to see a swallowtail shot from you ! :-)Your funny note made me smile ! Picture is excellent of course - details, colors, composition, POV, DOF, everything is very good. I love it !

Hi Grzegorz.
It's cool. You have selected DOF and POV extremely precisely. These components of shot have allowed you to create a really dramatic picture. It's quality is excellent too. TFS.
Alexei.

Hi!
As all your other photos of insects also this one is amazing. By the way, because I can not find any comment about the species of asilid fly - a short comment. This is a female of Dasypogon diadema, a species placed in the Red List of Threatened Animals in Poland. What is interesting the Polish name of it is: "czarny diabel" what means "black devil" - it is because the male of this species have metalic black body, including wings. Very rare in Lodz district!
Best regards,
Radek
