A real life drama of death being enacted here, Greg.
Very good POV, DOF, sharpness and colours. The torn wing of the butterfly intensifies its situation of utter helplessness.

Nice capture Greg,
You could probably go back this time next week, and the crab spider will just be finishing this hearty meal.
The details are nice, clear and sharp.
Good colours, lighting and exposure. DOF is spot on and the POV is good.
Well composed and nicely framed.
Thanks for posting, have a great week

Good Morning Greg,
This picture caught my attention yesterday and stuck to my mind, pondering over the conditions of existence in nature which are cruel but just and equal for all in the final count. Thank you very much for offering us this view of everyday life of our dear fellows, showing the reverse of the scenes we usually get and love to see, and for a very interesting note!
Wish you a very good day,

it's a nice action you have captured. The Crab spider is a small tough fellow.
And it also the "The European Spider of 2006 ;-).
Well composed, good dtails and POV.
Very well done, my friend.

What drama, Grzegorz!
Amazing natural scene, well seen and well captured.
It is hard to believe that that little spider would attempt such a feast/feat.
Great exposure and DOF.
TFS. : )

When i see the post about spider caught a butterfly, i feel envy, this one makes no different! i haven't seen any scene like that unfortunately. These scenes make me feel different cause what i feel about the beautiful and innocent butterfly as a prey of the bestie! Great shot of this dramatic scene, pov, sharpness, colours all are amazing!

Amaizing "capture", both senses.Admirable image and moment documentated.
Superb composition, with good details and beautiful bugs.

Piekne makro i znakomity moment uchwyciles.
Gratuluje i jak zwykle wszystko na TAK!
Grzegorz, marvelous clarity on the crabspider. I have seen < and photoed > quite a few crabspiders, but never have I seen them catch a butterfly. Maybe in my area there is "better food" or the crabspiders are more anti-fly.
I like your take on this. Small nit: what is that white blotch on the butterfly?
