One of the Autumn species in my area. Only small part of all butterflies becomes from local population. Most part is a migrants from the south part of Europe. The number of butterflies are different every year - sometimes is greater, sometimes smaller.
I've found this butterfly just at the Baltic coast near Leba in Poland. It's amazing but I've observed this butterfly just sitting on the beach and drinking salt(!) water from wet sand. I've never seen it before.
The picture is not bad so I've decided to share it with all of you. I hope you'll like it.
Some informations about the species you can find here. |

Hi Chris,
very lively capture, perfectly on focus, well framed.
Powerful approach, difficult pose very well handled with an excellent result. Bright colours are reported very clear in the sharp natural light of late summmer. Beautiful document.
Thank you! Best regards,
Peter

Hi Chris
Great shot, the pose is really nice, I like to see them from different angles, the detail is amazingly sharp with lovely colours too.

Hello Chris!
Excellent perspective that gives a glimple of the underside of this lovely butterfly's wing along with its beautifully coloured upper wing.
A great shot in its overall appeal.
TFS.
