[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Pega-azul,Iberian Magpie (Cyanopica cooki cooki)

This species is not easy to photograph especially because of it's behaviour, living in groups always flying and changing it's feeding places. Not easy to approach also...
I observe them for two days and this was a preferred place to eat...
I stop the car in the early morning and wait... it seems they always choose the far places like playing with me.Then one came to inspect if the figs were mature... was my opportunity...

more info about the species:

My thanks to Laszlo Kaposvari for the correct ID.

Have a good Sunday and thanks for viewing...

Bom dia Jose,
Excellent sharp detailed photo of this magpie. It's perched in beautiful light. Nice natural colours against a fine blurred background.

Hello Jose-Beautiful picture of this attractive Magpie.Although I watched your this picture brfore in...!Nice details and sharpness. Thanks for sharing here in TN.Regards and have a nice Sunday-Srikumar

Hi José,
Beautiful shot, pose, sharpness, colors, lights, depth and composition is excellent each. Gorgeous photo. About the ID: I just read the isolated population living in Spain / Portugal was separated from Cyanopica cyanus (which species is living in East Asia) due to genetical reasons and the new species got the name Cyanopica cooki. However, the photo is top quality, no matter which species we can see on it. Congratulations.

A gra abraço.
