Cynara algarbiensis in it's natural environment near the Vilage of Penedos, Beja, Portugal.
Mature flower involucres.
This species only grows in the mountaneous region Betwin the provences of Algarve and Alentejo, Portugal and in similar habitats in neighbouring Spain ( Huelva? )
