Curculionidae
(Info from wikipedia.com)

Phylum: Arthropoda
Class: Insecta
Order: Coleoptera
Suborder: Polyphaga
Infraorder: Cucujiformia
Superfamily: Curculionoidea
Family: Curculionidae Latreille, 1802

Curculionidae is the family of the "true" weevils (or snout beetles). With over 60,000 species described worldwide, it is the largest of beetle families.

They are recognized by their distinctive long snout and geniculate antennae with small clubs; beyond that curculionids have considerable diversity of form and size, with adult lengths ranging from 1 to 40 mm.

Weevils are almost entirely plant feeders, and most species are associated with a narrow range of hosts, in many cases only living on a single species.

With so many species to classify, the taxonomy of this family is quite complicated, authors disagreeing on the number and placement of various subfamilies, tribes, and subtribes.

Hi Filipe.
I like to see your new work here. It is amazing as others. Great POV and diagonal composition. I like precisely selected DOF and ultimate details/sharpness of the insect. Lights, colours are superb as well as smooth BG. Well done and my greetings.

Good depth of field, good composition, outstanding exposure.

Hi Filipe,
I'm still looking for my first "Banana beetle" while you already present it on TN. You did an excellent job, technically the picture is superb. You use the light from the side which gives each hair and pimple an opportunity to shine! Wonderful, the posture, the weevil seems to be daring.
Best regards
Dietrich

Hello Filipe,
This Lixus is really funny. Recently I posted one too (here). I like very well your photo: the satured colours are very beautiful and the background is nice too. Congratulations and TFS,
Catherine

Great details and colors. The exposure is spot on and the insect stand out very well against the green BG
