[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The butterfly Pararge aegeria from the subfamily Satyrinae is wide-spread in Europe.
It was in 1967 when the first specimen of P. aegeria was discoverd on Madeira. Since then it could establish strong populations on the island.
Based on the colours it resembles the mediterranean forms of the species.
