[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi Everyone,

My first post again in a while and I'm afraid I cant provide much information on it. I was playing golf in the Algarve and saw a lake with lots of dragon flies buzzing around and the photographer in me took over. I went to the car, got my camera and started looking for one that would keep still. This one was very photogenic and kept still on lots of different stones/plants on the ground so I have a few more photos of it at different angles

Any help with the ID would be much appreciated.

Hello Sion,
fine capture of this Sympetrum sanguineum male with good sharpness and beautiful colours. The male of the Ruddy Darter is a very beautiful Darter because of its red colours. Not only the Thorax and the Abdomen is red, but also the whole head of the Dragonfly is wonderfully red-coloured.
Best wishes,

Best wishes
