Madeira Endemics
 |
|
[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The island of Madeira is not very rich in animal species. However, many of them are endemics occuring nowhere else in the world. Recently I presented the endemic butterfly Hipparchia maderensis
Today I want to show you an endemic lizard of Madeira:
- Teira dugesii
- family: Lacertidae
Madeiran Wall Lizard
The species is rather variable with respect to coloration. I will show other specimens later.
Location
Madeira, between Bica da Cana and the Pinacula, a spectacular formed rock, emerging from the forest.

Well done!
Regards Jiri.
Hallo Peter,

Anne
