[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Fruit of the Strawberry Tree - Arbutus unedo.
The Strawberry Tree (Arbutus unedo L.) is an evergreen shrub or small tree, native to the Mediterranean region and western Europe, including Portugal.
I enjoy eating this wild fruit, but it is mostly used in Portugal to make a kind of strong brandy called aguardente de medronho.
Kingdom: Plantae
Division: Magnoliophyta
Class: Magnoliopsida
Order: Ericales
Family: Ericaceae
Genus: Arbutus
Species: A. unedo
Some info from Wikipedia.

Hi Francisco,
Very interesting to see these Arbutus fruits, I'd love to taste one! Very sharp shot and nice colours but I would have cropped this shot and zoomed in on the 5 + 1 fruits to make it more effective.
TFS, Ulla
Hi Francisco,
never heard of this tree before, it looks lovely.
The colours are amazing and details are good.
Agree with Ulla about the cropping and your WS is good except for the black frame, it is little to big for the small picture, otherwise itäs very nice.
Well done.

Hello Francisco,
the fresh colours of these wild fruits have been deeply enhanced by the contrasting clear blue sky - very inviting and refreshing capture! With thanks, and best regards,
