The black-crowned night heron (Nycticorax nycticorax), commonly shortened to just night heron in Eurasia, is a medium-sized heron found throughout a large part of the world.
The breeding habitat is fresh and salt-water wetlands throughout much of the world. The subspecies N. n. hoactli breeds in North and South America from Canada as far south as northern Argentina and Chile, N. n. obscurus in southernmost South America, N. n. falklandicus in the Falkland Islands, and the nominate race N. n. nycticorax in Europe,

This is one bird that has eluded my lens so far. I have only seen a few in the wild and they were during the spring migration up at Magee Marsh.
You have captured it perfectly in a great spot isolated from any distracting elements. A top quality image by all standards. Congratulations!!
Une très belle composition, bien cadrée; belle position du héron sur la branche et bon arrière plan neutre.
We have Night Heron in India and almost same looking.....
Well captured this beautiful bird with red eyes. Perfect BG.....
You like horizontal frame :-) I can see, but I frame according to birds pose.
Thanks for showing,
