|NIGHT HERON (JUVENILE - in DANUBE DELTA)|
This juvenile Night Heron has very good camouflage colors.
The black-crowned night heron (Nycticorax nycticorax), commonly shortened to just night heron in Eurasia, is a medium-sized heron found throughout a large part of the world.
The breeding habitat is fresh and salt-water wetlands throughout much of the world. The subspecies N. n. hoactli breeds in North and South America from Canada as far south as northern Argentina and Chile, N. n. obscurus in southernmost South America, N. n. falklandicus in the Falkland Islands, and the nominate race N. n. nycticorax in Europe,

I would never have guessed this was a Night Heron. I rarely see them except in the springtime during the migration up at Magee Marsh. Apparently I have only observed adult birds, I would have assumed this was possibly a Bittern by its plumage markings and colors.
Great shot displaying amazing detail and perfect clarity. Your exposure is right on the mark. TFS.
You were close to your subject and excellent picture of this juvenile Night Heron. Excellent focus on its eye with stunning details. I like such natural habitat picture.
Thanks for sharing,

Hi Marius, very nice capture of this young heron waking, excellent quality despite the location, the DOF and the sharpness are absolutely perfect, just a pity for the blurred leaves in the low part. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano
