A picture for you Loot
That bear looks like it wants me to go away. Brave you ...fantastic capture, colours and focus.
Hi Eduard. This is a aamazing shot. the detail and colour are spot on. the detail in the nose and eyes is so aharp. ,great colours and a nice compostion and POV. very well done .Nick..
Wow! Amazing note and brilliant shot - even better after reading the note!! A true TN shot. Excellent POV and DOF plus great colours. Well done!
Capture exceptionelle, je me demande si je garderai mon sang froid.
Excellente netteté et attitude du sujet.
I thought it was shot in captivity due to the tagging.
Wonderful wildlife image.
Etonnante rencontre. Comment peut-on prendre une photo si nette quand on a un ours en liberté à quelques mètres de soi? Chapeau d'avoir eu le courage de rester et de prendre en plus une excellente image.
amazing shot, fantastic focus
very nice shot of that bear, excellent focus, good light and colours, well well done
lovely picture on this fine
bear,i really like the the
great naturefelling and the
pose,sharp with nice light
and fine colours
very well done!
I am impressed on many counts! You have done particularly well to take such a detailed and sharp photograph when you must have been extremely nervous! (My hand shakes when I am particularly nervous!) Lovely composition and colours.
That is an amazing story, Eduard, and an amazing shot!
That is way too close for comfort, especially for a mother bear with cub.
You certainly captured her full face and close-up/
Fantastic details and POV.
TFS. : )
sympa le nounours mais a votre place je n'aurais pas été fier, bravo pour l'ensemble.
What a story! I don't think that I would have been able to do it. This is real wildlife photography. This picture merits all our attention and admiration. I wonder how this mother could keeps her calm with a little one near her and someone discreetly following him them. She knew you were there but se just stayed calm, isn’t wonderful? I don't think that I would have done it honestly or maybe I would, if my car was not far... Congratulations for this great post. The eye contact is amazing and so are this POV, details and exposure.
This is a great picture at all levels. Congratulations and remain careful :)
eduard nice capture of this lovely bear. the lighting POV and composition is very good. TFS Ganesh
Hola Eduard.- Que hermosa foto la que hoy nos presentas aqui, de esta Osa en un ambiente natural. Felicidades y gracias por compartir con nosotros. Luis52.
WOW! great shot. I have to go to the zoo to get my bear shots. Safe and easy, but they always look bored. This is getting a little close for that lens combo. I have the 70-200 f2.8...
You were lucky this bear did not come after you. Nothing more dangerous than a mother bear defending her cubs. I have spent alot of time in bear country and have seen this look. A spot on exposure and very sharp. The hands were not shaking to bad I guess. Love the overall composition. Very well done!
I know you were very excited to see the bear and her cub! It is an outstanding photo.
Your exposure is excellent. Even though the bear is a dark brown and the background even darker, we see the natural colors very well.
Focus is perfect and we see excellent detail in the fur.
I like the composition as well. Did you consider cloning out the two highest blades of grass? It is outstanding either way.
I enjoyed reading your story. I wish I had been there with you to see this beautiful bear and cub, but you photo is next best thing!
What a great honour and tremendous privilege to receive such a dedication from you. An overwhelming and humbling moment indeed. While I am ecstatic and thrilled to bits as a result of your very kind words I am also very grateful for the enormous privilege to receive such a lovely photo as this. I am just sorry that I unfortunately missed it that weekend before I went to hospital, but it was a case of rather late than never and now at least I am the "first one" from the bottom of the list.
It seems to me like there was quite a bit of risk involved while taking this photo on the foot and so close to this magnificent yet dangerous animal. I realise that the adrenaline can sometimes get the better of us, but you need to be careful so as not to place yourself in jeopardy. The only thing you can trust about wild animals is that they are "WILD" animals and they can react in unsuspecting ways at any given moment. When one encounter a lion or a rhino in nature, one could still escape by scurrying up a tree, but with these grizzlies one has hardly a chance to escape. I can now understand why you expressed your willingness or eagerness to follow a wild leopard into the bush for the sake of a couple of good nature photos. You got to have hair on your chest my friend (chuckle).
The posting itself is magnificent. The ultra sharp details are remarkable and the colours are absolutely stunning. The composition is great with the green foliage in the foreground and the OOF and well removed BG complimenting the bear. The exposure was spot-on and you even managed to get a clear catch light in each eye.
Very well done and TFS.

Wow this is one incredible image. To begin with I thought it must be in a zoo. I can't believe it is in the wild. I am very impressed. You are one brave person. The quality of the image is just superb and all the detail in the mum bear's face can be seen so clearly. An exceptionally fantastic image, congratulations.
fascinating wildlife portrait!
Fascinating story to come with!
Very intense, precisely detailed, perfectly well composed - looks dramatical to see her rising behind dense vegetation: Mother bear with a cube -maybe the most dangerous wildlife encounter we may run into on our continent. You are a very bold man, and you seem to have nerves of steel, and an impressing ability to peacefully communicate with wild animals. My congratulations.
And what a very nice dedication to your friend Loot. Thank you!
My best regards,

This picture remind me my visit in Piatra Craiului Mts., when during the rain I saw a tracks of bear. It was not nice, because I was alone and I really did not want to meet it face-to-face :)
Anyway, the picture is great! So sharp and detailed that I can feel like watching alive mammal. You were really lucky to take such picture. Once - because of the final effect, and second - because this bear does not look like very happy ;>
TFS and best greetings from Lodz,

intresting experience! scarry a little, but the shot is avesome! congratulations!
Yes your bird and butterfly images are wonderful and impressive, but in my opinion there's not much in nature that can compare to a great image of a bear in the wild. And you have captured one of the best. Absolutely perfect in every way. You did well to track her and capture your shots. My wife was worried the other day when I went hiking in the forest at Lacul Rosu. She warned me of animals like this. I wish I had the oportunity to capture something like this. I intend to spend more time in the mountains here and hopefully I will be able to emulate your beautiful shot.
Best regards, Steve.
