[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Few years ago we've got advertising campaign in Poland against violence in families, especially against beating wifes by husbands. On many billboards in every city very sad woman with black eye said - '...Because soup was oversalted...'. You know - she cooked too salty soup and angry husband beat her. Sad? No :-) Those billboards were really big mistake - didn't improve anything but became main topic of many jokes. In Polish internet there were thousands post processed photos of it. For example - coach of our national football team in same pose as beaten woman, also with big black eye and sign - '...Because we lost with Korea...'.

See my todays photo? This is salt karst from Slanic again. All this few meters high hill is made from salt. How many soups could be oversalted?

Hello Greg!
Very interresting and nice shot.Details, perspective and DOF are perfect.Excellent composition.TFS...:-)

I remember this advertisments!!!
My stupid friend from Univeristy told me "I didn't know that salt make something like that with eyes"!!!!!!!!!!!
Many people didn't understand it :-(

It was a great place - Slanic and salt karst!

Amazing formations Greg.It looks just like limestone Kaarst.
We've had campaigns like that here in NZ too.
Some sectors of society seem to be fairly modern thinking and aware, but there is definitely a redneck element here too.
Mind you,I'm sure my wife could do with the odd beating now and then ;)

The formations are quite incredible Greg. The light has hit these in just the right way. A stunning glistening sculpture. Excellent POV. Fascinating shot. Must have been a great experience to see this in person. Thanks for a great shot.

Originale et intéressante composition photographique. Jolies couleurs et bon effet de perspective.
Interesting & Well Done !

I'm sure Joanna wouldn't oversalt your soup Greg.
This is so interesting; it makes me want to see how it got there and why is it so patterned. I'd love to see it myself. Looks like a snowy mountain with a tall peak. Good shot and TFS very much...

Well done on this composition and presentation.
Hmmm, if I lived there, I would have many wives, cause I don't like salt in my soup or on my food, period. Hmmm, a trip to Poland? Just kidding. I don't like salt on my food though.
Excelent work, Greg.

Great shot Greg! This POV makes the shot..I enjoyed the notes on violence within the family that you've tied in..Great work and TFS!

I've seen plenty of these "...Becouse ..." jokes. Some were really great.
As for the shot: it looks amazing. I've never seen anything like this.
Very well done!

Very good picture and note, Greg.
Well composed, good details, DOF and very nice colours.
Good work.

Good shot Greg,
Really well composed, and a great POV. What a great clear blue sky.
Good notes, Thanks for posting

I climb alpine so I thought first these were seracs or neve , the hard icfe spikes and columns on glaciers for a second ...

Very interesting post, great POV and good details.
Well done.

Romania seems to be the kingdom of the textures. You got very nice shots, Greg. Another simple subject perfectly seen. Great DOF in this one!

Excellent shot Greg, I love the POV and the composition is great. The sparkling of the salt in the sun is very good. Well done.
