Nature is biggest sculptor - look on my picture - see from where Madonna derived her inspiration in fasion design ;-) ?

Picture was taken on old walls of medieval fortress in Alba Iulia. That was another beautifull day in Romania, sunny and full of great views. Fortress was impressive, with old churches and walls more than ten meters thick. Inside those walls nice pub was placed, full of shinning crystals built in floor and lightened. Great place! But I of cource didn't forget about my friends from TN so after few shots of architecture miracles I captured those two snails resting on old wall.

White-lipped Banded Snail [Cepaea hortensis]
Description: Shell up to 20mm across; very shiny, with an oval mouth surrounded by a white lip. The ground colour is usually yellow and there are typically five dark brown spiral bands, although many snails have fewer bands and some no markings at all.

Food and Habits: Eats grass and other low-growing plants, including lettuces and other tender garden species. Active at night or after daytime rain.

Habitat and range: Found in a wide range of habitats, including gardens, parks, fields, hedgerows and forests. Common and widespread throughout the Europe.

An artistic shot Greg!
DOF,details,BG,lighting especially composition are excellent.TFS...:-)

What do you mean talking about the fasion? :-)
Rumanian snails created new style! This is great title for newspapers ;-)

I love your snails Greg - much better than spiders. Very attractive - to me they look like aniseed sweets. I like your angle - quite arty with the snails on the wall. 10 metres thick wall - that's 30+ feet. WOW! Sounds like the trip was a lot of interesting fun. Good one!

Seems like you were quite excited about Romania, glad to hear it. And yes ver fashionable snails, indeed, also very tasty, to many people's surprise ...

Yes Greg, BRAVO for this beautiful composition!
You sure have good eyes to find the artistic way of presenting nature to us. At first sight, it's simple, but it's a very striking shot. No nits. Just great!

Hello Greg,

A very nice picture this is (just saw Star Wars episode II on TV and I am talking like Yoda, can you believe that?? ;)). I really like the composition, the colors and the POV. The DOF is a little shallow and therefore the focus on the second snail is a bit soft. BG & FG are very nice. TFS!

Regards,
Pieter

Wonderful markings on the shell Greg. Looks like someone got busy with the paint brush. Good POV. Crisp sharp image. Nice work.

This ia really wonderful Greg!
Graphics are amazing.Details, ligting and composition are great. Thanks for sharing.

Nice shot Greg, I like the way you've composed this shot. Great details and textures seen in your subject also..Interesting note, great job!

Nice shot Greg,
good composition, nice detail and colour. I like the shallow DOF, leaving the second snail slightly softer.
Thanks for posting

Interesting.
I saw something else though. I would have named this "Two Slow".
Regards,
KellEy
