Nigritella rubra is one of the rarest plant in Romania,and it is included on the Romanian Red List (Recorded during the National Grassland Inventory (2000-2003)as a vulnerable species). Conform to Romanian Flora, it is protected only in Dambovita, Prahova and Brasov.
