[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Danube Delta is the second largest river delta in Europe, after the Volga Delta, and is the best preserved on the continent.

The greater part of the Danube Delta lies in Romania, while its northern part, on the left bank of the Chilia arm, is situated in Ukraine.

Its approximate surface area is 4,152 km2 (1,603 sq mi), of which 3,446 km2 (1,331 sq mi) is in Romania.

Situated on major migratory routes, and providing adequate conditions for nesting and hatching, the Danube Delta is a magnet for birds from six major ecoregions of the world, including the Mongolian, Arctic and Siberian. There are over 320 species of birds found in the delta during summer,of which 166 are hatching species and 159 are migratory. Over one million individual birds (swans, wild ducks, coots, etc.) winter here.

The colors are gorgeous, as well as the birds and their pose, sharpness on them is excellent, however I find the out of focus foreground too much, it should have been cropped in my opinion to achieve the best result.

Hello Marius,
You have presented us with a different perspective, low right off the surface of the water. I feel like I am right down there swimming with the pelicans. The focus on the pelicans is sharp showing excellent detail and you used the rule of thirds quite well.
I do however tend to agree with Laszlo that the OOF portion may be a tad bit too much. Still a pleasing view. TFS another glimpse from the Danube Delta area.

Marius, I've just done some google search about Danube Delta and it's a birds' paradise indeed! I envy you for having this great place in your country.
