The great cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo), known as the great black cormorant across the Northern Hemisphere, the black cormorant in Australia, the large cormorant in India and the black shag further south in New Zealand, is a widespread member of the cormorant family of seabirds. The genus name is Latinised Ancient Greek, from φαλακρός (phalakros, "bald") and κόραξ (korax, "raven"), and carbo is Latin for "charcoal".

It breeds in much of the Old World and the Atlantic coast of North America.

A imagem do cormorão é aparada de forma extrema, parece avançar para os olhos, gerando um poderoso efeito de profundidade, quase tridimensional. Bom trabalho !!!

Hello Marius,
Your Cormorant sits tall and proud as if it is king of the mountain. Sharply focused showing us its unique features and plumage in fine fashion. It sure has its eyes fixed on something interesting just out of the cameras view. Great eye contact and I like the blurred BG isolating the bird in an attractive manner.

Hello Marius,
I haven't captured this species :-(
You are lucky. Beautiful picture if I look at its exposure as well as its pose.
I don't like horizontal frame here. This picture could have been more eye catching if you could framed it vertically and in such way you could get rid of BLANK SPACE (hind portion).
Thanks for showing,
