[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note

Colias croceus, clouded yellow, is a small butterfly of the family Pieridae, that is, the yellows and whites.

Colias croceus is one of the most-widespread species in Europe. The common clouded yellow's breeding range is North Africa and southern Europe and eastwards through Turkey into the Middle East but it occurs throughout much of Europe as a summer migrant, in good years individuals reaching Scandinavia. In Asia, its range extends into central Siberia in the north and barely into India in the south; it is not found in Central Asia.

Hi Marius,a Colias on the Medicago sativa is one of the most common situation available in my fields, this plant is very attractive for the butterflies, and fields full of the purple flowers are a paradise for the butterfly photographers too. A very nice composition, maybe a bit clear but very very sharp,i like it! Have a nice week and thanks,Luciano

Very nice picture, natural color and in acction! Perfect background too!
Thank you for sharing.

Ornate frame with this Yellow, Marius.
The two colours BG adds charm to your image.

Hello Marius,
I like this 'Clouded Yellow' species due to its colour. Excellent background and very well details. With due respect, a few things I don't like here in this picture :
(1) Although stunning background, but the line where two colors meet, just crossed behind the butterfly and to me it's bit distracting while concentrate on butterfly.
(2) Excellent "Butterfly" shot, but it is surrounded by a dark hallow. I'm not exactly sure of the cause, but I think it wasn't in your original shot. It happened during Post-processing if you used 'Gamma' /'Burn' tool with brush to get rid of unwanted light on butterfly. In another way, this 'Dark Hallow' could come and that is 'Gaussian Blur'. If you use 'Gaussian Blur' in the background without masking, then edges of the black area gets white, and white edges gets Black. Fringes! But here I don't think so, because flowers look OK.
(3) In my personal test, bit crop from left and right side would have been more attractive, mainly to get rid of BLANK SPACE, and to get perfect composition "Fill the frame" with subject.
(4) I would prefer to remove (bottom) unwanted out of focus emerging 🌿 plant.

That's all for tonight. Just simple ignore, if you don't like my comment.
