[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
GREAT CORMORANT (DANUBE DELTA)
The great cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo), known as the great black cormorant across the Northern Hemisphere, the black cormorant in Australia, the large cormorant in India and the black shag further south in New Zealand, is a widespread member of the cormorant family of seabirds.
This is a very common and widespread bird species. It feeds on the sea, in estuaries, and on freshwater lakes and rivers. Northern birds migrate south and winter along any coast that is well-supplied with fish. |

Hi Marius,
Breathtaking in-flight shot with perfect timing and composition. I also managed to photograph this species above the Lee river in Cork, but after looking at your image I decide to never post mine. Masterwork! Bravo!
Kind regards from Ireland, László
Ciao Marius, fantastic inflight capture, perfect focus, wonderful natural colors, splendid sharpness and fine details, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio
Simple, but well captured shot. it's always tough to focus perfectly. Details are great.
Thanks and regards,
